Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi
is a member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates He is also an established historian and writer who has published several theatrical and literary works. His highness biography is full of achievements that reflect his early interest in all kinds of knowledge. He has been very keen on providing the society with best education. This manifested in founding colleges and universities in the emirate of Sharjah. In spite of his being so busy as a ruler of the emirate, he is the author of more than seventeen books and studies in various streams of knowledge.
He has got many honorary degrees in appreciation of his distinguished support to education and the prosperity of man:

He has lots of accomplishments in industry economy and agriculture. He has been very keen on establishing a modern infrastructure to boost productivity of all government institutes and commerce.
- He encouraged preserving the Islamic architecture in government buildings and shopping malls.
- He insisted on keeping green areas in the city and to have public parks in every neighborhood.
- He gave orders to plant a garden that is related to botany which is first of its kind in the region and it has international standards.
- Founding Free Zones in Al Hamriya an Sharjah International Airport.
- He directed specialests to maintain ancient archaulogical sites and to re open Al Arsa Market
- And to re build the ancient fort which has important documents about the emirate of Sharjah
